QUICK GUIDE

How to play.

  1. 01

Pick a cell and enter a digit

Tap an empty cell and enter a digit with the buttons or keyboard. The row, column, and box light up so repeats are easy to spot.

  2. 02

    Pencil in candidates

Turn on notes to jot small candidate digits in a cell. When you place a digit, it is removed from the notes in its row, column, and box automatically.

  3. 03

    Finish the grid

Fill all 81 cells correctly to record your time and mistakes. The small number under each digit button shows how many of that digit are left.

Frequently asked questions

Does every puzzle have one solution?

Yes. Each puzzle is checked by a solver to have exactly one solution, so it can be solved by logic without guessing.

How do the levels differ?

They start with different numbers of givens: about 40 for easy, about 32 for normal, and around 26 for hard. Fewer givens call for deeper reasoning.

Can I continue the daily sudoku later?

Yes. Your progress and time are saved in this browser, so you can close the window and pick up where you left off. The clock stops while you are on another tab.

Can I turn off mistake highlighting?

Uncheck the box beside the board to stop marking numbers that differ from the solution. Repeats in a row, column, or box are always shown, and mistakes are counted either way.
